Never one to simply dish out a review, Michael Nagrant summed up the year in Newcity with a series of Top 5 lists. Among the categories are the top five hangover helpers, foods in ‘ball’ form, and - our personal favorite - the “food-related experiences I assumed would suck, but were really good.” Among the winners in that latter category were M Burger, dinner at Tabor Hill Winery, and the Thai chopped chicken salad from Panera. All right, so what else to do we learn? Well, he loves Ria, the pork belly kimchi fries from Del Seoul, and La Lagartija’s shrimp taco. Though a tad all over the place, it’s probably the best summation of the best of Chicago’s high end and more approachable cuisine in 2010. Check out the full list to see if there are any that he missed. [Newcity Resto]
