A week ago, we learned that chef Joseph Mahon was the latest to join Bastide’s list of esteemed exiles (Bastide sniped back with its own nasty little take the next day) and today we learn that he’s already onto his next gig, a two-night pop-up at KTown’s Biergarten next Monday and Tuesday. The chef, who calls himself a “cooking gangster” is teaming up with self-described “wine pimp” David Haskell as Magnum Crew (Magnum Force would have been cooler), with options to pair sake, beer, and soju with Mahon’s plates, which include beef cheek confit and a take on the fried chicken that was good enough for us, if not “up with Bastide’s standard.” Groan!
