Rising megastar Jake Gyllenhaal has fallen under the spell of the Lady Waters and her Little Gem lettuces — today word comes that he’s joined the board of the Chez Panisse Foundation and become an Ambassador for The Edible Schoolyard. Says Jake, “I have long admired [Alice Waters’] work and care deeply about helping children better their health, communities and environment.” We know he also cares deeply about eating well — he was spotted with girlfriend Taylor Swift at Al Di La in October, and we spotted him at Le Fooding in September — but if he and Jamie Oliver have their say, becoming a conscientious foodist may just be the next Hollywood trend.
