Looks like Palihouse will need a new chef (again): Gary Menes is leaving the West Hollywood restaurant this week. Menes tells Squid Ink he’ll be opening his own place, partnering with fellow Palate Food + Wine alum François Renaud, and it will be in some “bohemian” neighborhood and happen any time between now and the next two years. No specifics there, but he candidly adds: “It’s a dream that needs to be realized, ever since our premature closure of Marché. That one hurt. That one hurt a lot.” [SI]
