Rejoice, drunkards! Boston’s food trucks (hopefully) will be operational on New Year’s Eve, ready to lessen the blow of that inevitable hangover.

Mayor Tom Menino appeared on WGBH’s “Greater Boston” show last night, and the conversation turned to food. Emily Rooney asked the question that’s been on the tip of every hopeful reveler’s tongue for weeks now: Will Boston’s food trucks operate on New Year’s Eve? Menino said that the city’s working on it, going on to express a certain passion for the soy BLTs at the Clover food truck near South Station. As we reported earlier, Boston City Council last week proposed a plan to regulate the growing food truck movement here in Boston. [Adam’s Hospitality & Tourism Industry]
