We’re not sure if it was divine intervention or just a case of ‘do we really need to get into this?’, but religion has won out in the great Pancake v. Prayer lawsuit between Glendale-based International House of Pancakes and the Pasadena-based International House of Prayer.
In September, the Rooty Tooty Fresh ‘N Fruity restaurant chain sued the church, alleging trademark infringement because it used ihop.org, IHOP and “related phrases.” Maybe the spirit of the season got to them: The chain dismissed the case against the ministry on Dec. 21. While other locations around the country have kept ihop.org for their website, the Pasadena location now uses pihop.org (good thing IHOP doesn’t serve pie). Perhaps this is God’s way of making the chain pay for Cheesecake Stackers.
