Bar Brawls Lead to Arrest in West Village, Death in Queens

Yesterday the Post reported on a bar brawl that erupted at Arthur’s Tavern after the cash-only policy apparently angered a couple of Dutch embassy workers. And in another case that’s nicely timed with the city’s new anti-binging campaign, a 33-year-old was beaten to death at Bartini’s in Forest Hills after he hit on someone’s girlfriend. The identity of his assailants is a mystery, but a commenter at the Forest Hills Patch writes, “Haroon was purposely taken into an ambush of drunk angry punks … It was at least sixteen people who beat him badly … A bouncer and his everyday buddies killed my best friend and there will be justice.”
