The Asian fast-casual concepts keep coming. In addition to the Asian concept Chipotle is working on (we hear the first location will be in D.C.), Glaze Teriyaki (which counts Chipotle as a business model) is hoping to open next month at 638 Lexington Avenue, and today Sensebowl, a budding chain that describes itself as “Chipotle meets Momofuku” has opened the first of what founders Jonathan Krieger (a managing director at RKF brokerage firm) and John Woo (a co-founder of Bread & Butter) hope will be several locations in the next two years.
The concept is build your own bowl: You select a base (rice, noodle, tofu, or greens), then a cooked protein and some raw toppings, plus a broth, a sauce, or a dressing. If that’s a lot to digest, have a look at the menu below. We don’t have photos in, but judging by these renderings, the look is very (you guessed it) Chipotle.
