What do you get when you bring two Top Chef winners together for one night at another Top Chef finalist’s restaurant? When Kevin Sbraga and Michael Voltaggio stopped in at 10 Arts on Friday, they received a stunningly decadent 11-course tasting menu courtesy of Jennifer Carroll. The meal began with 10 Arts take on a Philly soft pretzel and included everything from inspired preparations of uni and foie gras to pastry chef Monica Glass’s desserts and several bottles of champagne. “Kevin told me his favorite dish was the uni over forbidden rice and Parmesan foam,” Carroll told Grub Street. “Michael really liked the Buffalo sweetbreads and the Spanish rock octopus with crispy eggplant and chickpeas.”

“Michael is huge dessert fan and ordered one of everything from the menu,” Carroll added. “Kevin said he was too full for dessert.”

Carroll added that after the meal the two Top Chefs were more interested in their next stop than giving her dishes any Judges’ Table scrutiny. “When they were done, they were both like, ‘C’mon Jen, hurry up and get changed so we can go get a drink,’” Carroll said. And with that the three walked around the corner to Monk’s Café for a round of beers.
