The Press-Democrat Gets a Little Miffed About Where They Sat at Fish Story

There was no Bauer review on Sunday, but Jeff Cox at the Press-Democrat filed the first review of Fish Story, the new seafood-focused Lark Creek venture in the Napa Riverfront development. He says they get “just about everything right” and goes on to describe all of the various oyster and clams on the half-shell that are available on the menu. He calls the crab cakes “zippy” but the Caesar salad “rather ordinary.” He quibbles with the Portuguese-ness of using chorizo in the Portuguese-style Clams and Pork [note the “-style” part, Cox], but admits it’s “delicious.” His biggest gripe: They refused to seat him in the glassed-in dining room facing the river, no matter how early he arrived, and despite visual evidence of empty tables for at least 90 minutes that he was there. “This isn’t hospitality, it’s hostility, and Fish Story deserves better,” Cox writes.
