Yesterday Grub Street talked a little bit about some of the city’s longest delayed restaurant openings. Today we have some details on what’s bound to be one of the quickest turnarounds in recent memory. The Corner, which up until the beginning of October was still APO and was supposed to make its debut in early November, is now looking at a December 16 opening. The space, which is owned by restaurateur Tony Rim, who also owns the nearby Raw, is currently being retooled to house an open kitchen and dining space and a cocktail bar on the second floor. As mentioned here before, Scott Swiderski, who helmed Stephen Starr’s Buddakan for 12 years, will be running the kitchen.
