The former Café Hurghada space at 457 Hyde has a new tenant moving in, as Tenderblog reports, called Hydeaway Blues BBQ. The menu will feature Cajun items like jambalaya and gumbo, but the star of the show will be “a Memphis-style barbecue with a San Francisco twist, transformed to a new level of wood perfection.” The venture comes from the May family, owners of the Celebrity Ballroom in Daly City and Big May’s Blues City BBQ, a catering business that is soon becoming a full-fledged restaurant in Hayward. For the Hydeaway, they’re aiming for a December 1 opening.
