It’s not like we’d put anything past our former Governor Rod Blagojevich, but he still never ceases to surprise us. He is now a paid pitchman for Wonderful Pistachios, which puts him in the same company as Levi Johnston, Wee Man from Jackass, and Snookie from Jersey Shore. In the newly released ad, he sits at a table and opens up a briefcase filled with pistachios. A voice-over says, “Rod Blagojevich does it innocently,” and then he eats one. What’s ultimately surprising about the ad, and which probably makes it effective, is that he doesn’t say a word. Take a look at the full ad below.
Of course, in the press release Blagojevich manages to get a word in. “The contents in the suitcase are like the accusations against me–they’re nuts,” says Blagojevich. “I’d been eating these pistachios and enjoying them well before they asked me to do a commercial.” Sure…
