This past weekend Rob and Allie Levitt left Mado. According to Time Out, the couple decided to split from their business partners, who happen to own the lease on the Bucktown restaurant. They took most of their kitchen staff with them. What’s ultimately most shocking is that they don’t plan to open another restaurant like Mado. Instead, the couple plan to open a butcher shop called The Butcher and Larder in Noble Square. It should be open a little after Thanksgiving. The shop will sell both raw meat and cured products like pâtés and terrines. We’re still kind of in shock. What does this mean for Mado? But how awesome does that butcher shop sound? We’ll update when we hear more. [TOC]
