One of L.A.’s must-eats in Northeast L.A., Cuban bakery Porto’s, opened a location in Downey yesterday. OC Register reports that the third outpost of this European/Latin pastry, bread, dulce de leche kiss, medianoche, cheese roll, and empanada artist is now up and buzzing on Firestone Blvd. So which location is closest to you? We did a little math (something we’d hoped to avoid by becoming writers) to find out. Okay, actually, we plugged some addresses into Google Maps to find out how many miles Porto’s is from a small scattering of neighborhoods. See our handy guide to get you to the closest Porto’s below. We’ve even marked a star by the shortest routes, which really should be whichever one keeps you off the 110 North after 3:00 P.M.

Miles to Porto’s Glendale
315 North Brand Blvd. Glendale.

From Venice: 27.6 miles
From West Hollywood: 11.4 miles
From Koreatown: 10.2 miles
From Downtown: 13.7 miles
From Culver City: 19.7 miles

Miles to Porto’s Burbank:
3614 West Magnolia Blvd. Burbank.

From Venice: 22.7 miles ***
From West Hollywood: 7.5 miles***
From Koreatown: 8.6 miles***
From Downtown: 11.7 miles****
From Culver City: 20.9 miles

Miles to Porto’s Downey:
8233 Firestone Blvd. Downey.

From Venice: 25.1 miles
From West Hollywood: 20.3 miles
From Koreatown: 17.2 miles
From Downtown: 12.6 miles
From Culver City: 20.8 miles****

As you can see, Porto’s Burbank clearly appears to be the most centrally located of all three bakeries, if you’re coming from points West or Downtown. East L.A. and O.C. might have the new stop all to themselves.
