Ms. Unterman makes it around to six-month-old Upper Haight Puerto Rican restaurant Parada 22 this week, and she makes it sound like she’s been palling around with Giants players Andres Torres, Javier Lopez and Jonathan Sanchez, who all eat there and “dream of home” in their native Puerto Rico. She calls the rice and beans, both red and white, “satisfying,” and describes the pernil asado as “a gigantic portion of roasted pork leg, cut into thick, moist slabs with bits of crispy, golden brown skin interspersed.” She also loves the chicharron de pollo, the camarones a la criolla, and says their version of a Cuban sandwich is the “[best] version of this raffish toasted sandwich” she’s ever tasted.
