Jonathon Cichon, the newly appointed executive chef at Lacroix has added a $45 supplement to the restaurant’s tasting menu. With the six-course price fixe already at $75 per person, adding an additional dish and boosting the total cost to $120 might seem a little extravagant. Then again, that extra dish — celery root-banana agnolotti with broccoli rabe, lardo, and white truffles — serves as a showcase for this year’s white truffle harvest, which according to Cichon, is one of the best in recent years. Without the tasting menu, the standalone dish runs $60. For $45 per plate, Cichon will add shaved white truffles to any dish on the menu. The white truffles are available through the end of the month.
