Holy Molé: La Esquina Takes Over Williamsburg’s Relish Diner

After closing in July, the diner that held Relish for thirteen years is coming back to life, and not just in a TV show or movie. A new restaurant blog, NYC In.tel, hears that the team behind La Esquina is opening a “Mexican beer garden” there, and a rep for the Nolita hot spot tells us it’s true.

We’re awaiting more details, but this should definitely keep things interesting for new chef Akhtar Nawab. One person who won’t be coming over to the Williamsburg location: noted GM Gwen Butler. According to PX This post from last month, she’s no longer with the restaurant.
