Exit 13, a rich chocolate stout, is the sixth entry into Flying Fish’s ongoing Exit Series of limited edition big-bottle beers honoring the brewery’s home state of New Jersey. Brewer Casey Hughes brewed the beer with imported and domestic malts, dark wheat, Irish ale yeast and Pacific Northwest hops. Upping the chocolaty factor, he added 580 lbs. of Belcolade Dark Chocolate and aged the beer with 200 lbs. of cocoa nibs and 12 lbs. of vanilla beans. It will be officially unveiled on December 7 at Pub on Passyunk East and available at beer distributors shortly after.
