Butch Patrick, the child actor who played Eddie Munster on the classic 60s sitcom The Munsters and the grownup that Grub Street mentioned back in August had developed a fondness for Victory’s Golden Monkey, has entered an undisclosed rehab facility in New Jersey for drug and alcohol issues, USA Today reports. Patrick, who had relocated to the area after sparking up a romance with former Eagles cheerleader and lifelong Munsters fan, Donna McCall, became a fixture at Victory’s Downingtown brewpub, where he was said to enjoy the award-winning brewery’s potent (9.5 percent alcohol) Belgian-style golden ale. He and McCall have since split. TMZ reports that Patrick has struggled with alcohol, marijuana and cocaine abuse for more than 40 years. Grub Street can’t help but wonder if it was the Golden Monkey that finally pushed him over the edge.
