Blokes & Birds finally opened last night in Lakeview. The cheeky pub has a menu full of British classics, which we were able to examine last week. As we pointed out, it’s pretty authentic, and that’s already led to some positive Yelp reviews — yes, we know Graham Elliot would not approve. David Z. gave it four stars, noting specifically that Blokes & Birds used lamb in its shepherd’s pie instead of beef, “Do you know how hard it is to find a real Shepherd’s Pie?” He also pointed out that there was some Monty Python on the TV, which is always a good sign.
