After several months of anticipation, Jeff Cerciello’s FarmShop is finally here. Well, some of it, anyway. Last Friday, the bakery debuted to serve house-made pastries, La Mill coffee, and herbal tea, with daily changing brunches to follow this Saturday and full lunch service next Monday. Dinner service is planned in December, sometime around Christmas, once the alcohol permits are approved in place. Until then, FarmShop is slinging Fentiman’s cola and Hank’s root beer, coffee cake, scones, muffins, flavored meringue, and danishes, plus a few tartines at 11:00 A.M. as a small preview of brunch. The Brentwood Country Mart space stands in stark white tile and organic-looking light woods, very clean, with a sense of sophisticated small-town chic. A market is under construction behind a slatted wall, planning to open in spring with baked goods on sale, along with a butcher and larder for California-raised meats, cheeses, dairy, charcuterie, fruits and vegetables, kitchenware, wine, and beer.
