A few weeks ago Grub Street mentioned that Victory Brewing Co. was expanding its brewing operations at its Downingtown facility, which seemed like pretty good news for thirsty, local-beer-loving masses. Today there’s even more good news brewing up on the local beer front: Yards Brewing Co. is growing too, according to KYW Newsradio. With the addition of new fermentation tanks, the Delaware Avenue brewery expects to up its output by 50 percent, from 16,000 barrels annually to 24,000. Founder and brewmaster Tom Kehoe, chalks the expansion up to meeting the needs of the growing number of beer drinkers who seeking out better quality brews than those produced by macrobreweries.
