What started as a beautiful, breezy October day buzzing with Abbot-Kinney’s brunch-fixated crowds took a slight turn for the worse as a persistent drizzle and restaurants running out of food marred the best intentions of yesterday’s Taste of Abbot-Kinney event. We heard more than a few groups griping that they’d passed through the entire festival without using all of their pre-bought tickets. But Grub Street L.A. still managed to capture some of the bites we’d most wanted to try at the fashionable street’s stand-out restaurants. Ludo Lefebvre was personally manning his fried chicken truck, somehow not needing the Sunday off after the debut of LudoBites 6.0 last week, while Tasting Kitchen prepared a dynamite sandwich matched with Bloody Mary’s and the street’s sushi stalwarts, Wabi-Sabi and Shima, competed with Jin Patisserie for some of the most artistic bites. Take a look at our slide show of the day’s edible highlights and let us know if you attended and what you thought of the event in our comments.
