What To Eat From Shangri-La’s Three New Menus

Still buzzing from a recent rave review in L.A. Times, chef Dakota Weiss is dropping three new menus on The Dining Room at Shangri-La Hotel: one for lunch, one for dinner, and another for late-night with all dishes and drinks priced at seven bucks after 9:00 P.M. Continuing the theme of upscale international twisted with playful comfort, expect dishes like short rib stroganoff, foie gras mashed potatoes, a chicken cordon blue with speck in place of ham, truffled egg toast, and sauteed veal liver with shitakes. Bucatini is made in-house with an egg-topped bolognese of veal, beef, and pork, and of course, the famous neighboring farmer’s market is a huge player in all. And when can you dive into seven cocktails and seven bites for seven bucks a piece?

Tuesday through Saturday nights at 9:00 P.M., a new late-night menu is available with classic drinks like Manhattans, rum rickeys, French 75s, and gimlets, alongside seven sliders, all for seven bucks each. The sliders include a tuna salad with cheddar and avocado, maple glazed bacon with jalapeno and gruyere, and crab cake with cranberry tartar and smoked tomatoes.
