Unbeknown to many of the thirsty throngs that make up the city’s drinking class, Franklin Mortgage & Investment Company, Center City’s the oh-so trendy cocktail hideaway, serves food. We’re not talking pork chops and strip steaks, but the bar does offer a menu of small plates that are perfect for soaking up all the delicious boozy goodness that the Franklin’s award-winning staff shakes, mixes and stirs. “I hear all kinds of crazy stuff about the Franklin that isn’t true,” proprietor Mike Welsh told Grub Street. “The two biggest myths are that we don’t have beer and don’t serve food, which is obviously false.” The new small plates menu features snacks, antipasto, cheese and spreads.
