Stephen Starr has appointed Shane Cash, the great nephew of American music icon Johnny Cash, as Executive Chef of Rat’s Restaurant at Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ. Cash, who first entered Starr’s orbit in 2008 as a consultant for Teplitzky’s at The Chelsea in Atlantic City, replaces outgoing chef Kevin Sbraga, the winner of Top Chef: D.C.. Cash was later bumped up to Executive Chef at Starr’s steakhouse, Butcher & Singer, and then promoted to Divisional Executive Chef for STARR Events. At Rat’s he expects to continue maintaining the restaurant’s focus on seasonality with an emphasis on local and sustainable foods.
