Sage Lounge Gets New Owners, Toast Nears, Martini House Shutters, and More

SoMa: Sage Lounge (1601 Howard), which is under new ownership and might be changing its name to Sage 1601, has revamped their breakfast and lunch menus and is applying to sell beer and wine. [Grub Street]
Polk Gulch: Toast (1601 Polk) is still papered over but nearing completion at the former Bob’s Broiler space. This is the third location of the mini chain with two other spots in Noe Valley. [Grub Street]
Upper Haight: Mama’s Kitchen, which Grub Street noticed back in May moving into the Soul Patch store at 1599 Haight, may end up being called Mama’s Burgers, and will aim to be “classy.” Still, no relation to the famed Mama’s in North Beach. [Eater]

Noe Valley: The former Deep Sushi space (1740 Church Street at Day) is becoming Tataki South, from the team behind Tataki on California Street. [Tablehopper]

Oakland: No Worries (1442 Franklin), serving up Filipino vegan food, just opened. [Eater]

Also, down the street at 347 14th Street, Disco Volante is on its way – a restaurant/bar/live music venue from Tim Tolle (Ruby Room, Radio) and a couple of partners. [Scoop]

St. Helena: The nine-year-old Martini House, in which Pat Kuleto is a partner along with Richard Miyashiro, is closing at month’s end. New owners Brian Bennett and Paul Fleming (of P.F. Chang’s, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse, and Paul Martin’s American Bistro) are taking over, with a new concept TBD. [Eater]

Napa: A new “Asian-themed” restaurant called Eiko’s, from chef Eiko Nakamura (Fujiya) is opening in early 2011 in the former Piccolino’s space (1385 First Street). [Scoop]
