El Sarape, a shuttered Pico Blvd. Mexican restaurant that few diners really miss in West L.A., is on its way to becoming a new restaurant. An application to transfer El Sarape’s liquor license is pending for a business called Rye Bread Inc. Could a selection of German breads and brews be on its way? Here’s hoping a spaetzle as good as Tony DiSalvo’s at Whist will fill the void here.
