The guys behind Grill em All, the L.A. burger truck that won The Great Food Truck Race, are coming to New York for the first time since the show filmed here. But they won’t be bringing their Metallica-inspired wheels. Dave Ciancio (better known as the Rev to readers of his blog Burger Conquest) is bringing chefs Ryan Harkins and Matthew Chernus to town from October 21 through 24. Driving the truck cross-country is too expensive (even if they did just win $50,000), so they’re looking for a host kitchen. Once they’ve found a suitable grill, the Rev says he’ll announce “several locations around the city” where the team will serve blends from meatpacking purveyor Burger Maker. Do stay tuned — it remains to be seen whether the Molly Hatchet (with seared fennel smoked sausage gravy, applewood smoked bacon, and maple drizzle) can lure New Yorkers out of their burger fatigue, but Ciancio is planning to hire a publicist, so this could be as big as the Kogi truck’s visit.
