Pizza & Pipes Closes Its Last Location; Redwood Tavern To Take Its Place

Pizza & Pipes — the onetime live entertainment venue, founded in 1962 in Santa Clara, featuring a pipe organ and pizza that eventually turned into a depressing arcade/foosball venue — appears set to close its last location in Redwood City. Grub Street discovers today that Jacek and Ann Chin Rosicki — owners of The Edge in Palo Alto, Agenda Lounge in San Jose, and the former Club Oasis in San Jose and ELEVEN in San Francisco — are opening something called Redwood Tavern in the Pizza & Pipes space at 821 Winslow Street in Redwood City. (South Bay denizens may recall the forced closure of Club Oasis back in 1996 following a murder.) No word on what the Redwood Tavern menu will be like, or when exactly the turnover might occur, but look for the transformation in the next few months. [Grub Street]
