The baker-owner of Goody Goodie, Remi Hayashi, and the dude who owns all those little Blue Bottle-serving coffee bars in SoMa (Cento, Vega, Special Xtra), John Quintos, are teaming up to open a café at 14th and Harrison called StarStream (1830 Harrison). Like Quintos’s other Italian-scooter-themed caffeine depots, StarStream is named for a model of Lambretta scooter, and as SFoodie reports, Hayashi will be serving breakfast pastries, breads, sandwich rolls, cakes, tarts, and at lunch, some Roman-style pizzas. The space came with a pizza oven, but Hayashi insists, “By no means are we throwing our hat into the pizza ring.” They plan to softly open October 21.
