Financial District: More on the Michael Mina 2.0 opening (252 California), which happens next Tuesday, October 19: The cuisine is going to be Japanese- and French-influenced but all à la carte, with the option of having chef de cuisine Jeremy Ravetz cook for the table; lunch will be served only in the bar; the design will feature sculptural steel podiums and fixtures by Wyatt Ellison. [Grub Street]
North Beach: While chef-owner Joseph Manzare is waiting for the sale of Joey & Eddie’s (1652 Stockton) to go through (possibly to Original Joe’s?), he’s doing a pop-up Italian concept in the space for a couple of months called BeeBo. [Scoop]
Mission: Chris Cosentino and Bizarre Foods’ Andrew Zimmern will be shooting at Off the Grid McCoppin on Friday. [SFoodie]

Hayes Valley: Absinthe is hosting a New Orleans-esque, Boxing Room preview dinner from 5 to 10 p.m. on Monday October 18, cooked by recently announced Boxing Room chef Justin Simoneaux. The deal is $35, and dishes include Star Route Farms baby beets with celery root and Creole remoulade; and a pork tenderloin with candied yams, braised greens and spiced cane syrup. Reservations can be made by email or at 415.551.1453. P.S. The opening of Boxing Room, in the former Citizen Cake space, is still a few months off. [Grub Street, Earlier]
Mill Valley: The almost 30-year-old Cantina (651 E. Blithedale Avenue), which shuttered in 2007 and was briefly replaced by Maria Maria, has reopened in the same space with the same chef they had since 1983. [Scoop]
