• Cambridge: Life Alive, an organic café, has opened its doors on 765 Mass Ave in Central Square. The shop is located in the old Hollywood Video spot and is the second location of the Lowell-based vegetarian restaurant. [Grub Street]
• Somerville: Teele Square gains an upscale vegan restaurant this fall with the addition of True Bistro. The 29-seat restaurant, on the corner of Broadway and Curtis, is scheduled to open later this month. [Somerville Scout]
Danny’s Diner was recently shuttered on Beacon St. outside of Porter Square. New owners plan to keep the Danny’s American-driven menu, but are peppering it with Peruvian flair. The newly named Great Taste diner will serve breakfast all day, in the Danny’s tradition. [Somerville Patch]
• Framingham: Limey’s, a British pub, opened shop at 101 Concord St. in downtown Framingham this week. The anglocentric restaurant gives MetroWest the British-fare advantage for the Boston region.
