Maharashtran-born journalist, caterer, and “chef by choice” Kaumudi Marathé is hosting a two-night pop-up dinner called “Un-Curry Table,” promising to shatter stereotypes of Indian cuisine through organic California ingredients, Subcontinental spices, and Ayurvedic philosophy. The chef plans a changing menu with bites like cilantro pesto paneer, tomato-coconut soup, and stuffed okra, along with cardamom-rosewater shortbread and nutmeg and mango-vanilla bean coulis. Dinner parties are planned for $49 a head, with both vegetarian and non-veg menus available. November 6th and 13th, with reservations online. [L.A. Times]
