Oakland-based Anya Fernald (founder of the Eat Real Fest), Jeremy Tooker (Four Barrel Coffee), and Danny Bowein and Anthony Myint (Mission Chinese Food, Commonwealth) are among the 40 folks honored in Food & Wine’s “40 Big Food Thinkers Under 40” list, coming out in their November issue. Fernald is noted for thinking “good food should be about fun, not denial,” and Myint — whose Mission restaurants donate profits to a local food bank — is quoted saying, “There’s a synergy between eating and gratitude that makes sense.” [Food & Wine via Scoop]
