The patriarch of Echo Park’s famous French restaurant Taix, Raymond M. Taix, passed away last Sunday at the age of 85 at his Pasadena home. One of the city’s oldest family-run restaurants, Raymond helped move the eatery his father Marius started Downtown in 1927 to its current Echo Park location in 1962. The restaurant is currently operated by his son Michael Taix, who tells The Eastsider that coq au vin and short ribs were his father’s favorite meals. [The Eastsider L.A.]
