Beer Me

City Tap House’s Beer 2.0 Is Kind of Like Big Brother With a Drinking Problem

Back in May, Grub Street mentioned that the then newly opened City Tap House offered Tasting Notes, a system the 60-tap beer bar and restaurant had created for keeping track of drinkers likes and dislikes. This week the Tap House has the launched the second component of that program, Beer 2.0. Now when visitors fill out a Tasting Notes card and return it to their server, the information they put down is used to create an online Beer Profile that can be recalled at any point from any web browser. Users can look up beers they enjoyed on previous visits, and the Tap House’s staff can call up users profiles to make informed beer suggestions on return visits. It’s kind of like having Big Brother as a drinking buddy.
