You can add the Chelsea Room to the list of fall nightlife spots that are hearkening back to another era. GM Marcus Bifaro (of Montauk’s Surf Club) tells the Journal that he doesn’t want to be one of those “nightclubs that open and close because people do the carbon copy of the same old thing,” so he has exposed some bricks (!) and brought in some upstate barn wood (!). You’ll have to wait for Saturday’s opening to find out whether the rustic revamp of the old Star Lounge is as effective as Dallas BBQ’s makeover.
