The proprietors of the popular Williamsburg bowling venue Brooklyn Bowl have their sights on a second fancy bowling alley location in the Mission, as the Inside Scoop reports today. This news comes on the heels of reports of Lucky Strike Lanes moving into the Borders in SoMa, and we have to say Brooklyn Bowl sounds like a better fit for this town. No deal is inked yet, but the 2500 block of Mission is mentioned… could that mean they’re looking at the New Mission Theater?! The empty, historic theater, designed by the same architect as the Paramount in Oakland but fallen into disrepair, has technically been in the hands of Medjool owner Gus Murad for several years. This could just be the deal he’s been hoping for, given earlier stated plans for “an entertainment venue.” ALSO, we heard inklings last spring that Blue Ribbon, which does the food service at Brooklyn Bowl, was toying with expanding here too. Granted we’re piecing together rumors here, but once again, file under: DEVELOPING.
