Oyster bars and steakhouses are the order of the day. Not one, but TWO oyster bars ready to open this coming week. First, from the people who brought you Franklin Cafe and Tasty Burger we have: The Citizen Public House and Oyster Bar. Next, the Lineage and Eastern Standard team presents: Island Creek Oyster Bar. The two much-awaited dining additions are just tending to the last details before diving in.

Although Thrillist optimistically pushes for a Saturday opening, Citizen Pub’s Facebook says it may be more like Sunday. The place—located at 1310 Boylston Street—promises to deliver upscale tavern dining and well-executed cocktails.

As for Island Creek, a diner’s report on the oyster bar’s Facebook page evidences that a soft opening occurred last week. An observation by Devra First on Twitter that OpenTable was accepting October 18th reservations caught the attention of the restaurant’s PR firm, who suggested an opening date slighter later in the week due to last minute design tweaks. Either way, look out 500 Commonwealth Ave.

And finally, in the tradition of decadent dining, a good round of half shells does well to be followed by a meaty main. That is just what this week’s openings deliver with the arrival of Met Club’s newest outpost at 279 Dartmouth St. We knew it was coming, but now it’s official. Owner Kathy Trustman set a firm October 18th opening date according to Zagat Buzz.
