Books And Cookies Coming to Main Street Santa Monica This Winter

A new bakery is opening on Santa Monica’s Main Street this winter, with a sweet lure to replace Kindles and scripts, and encourage the use of one of those funny old rectangular objects with words written all over them…uh, we think they were called books. Books and Cookies will serve freshly baked treats, milk, and juice to your little ones, along with a selection of children’s books, and coffee and tea for adults. A website tells us this place is mostly for kids, but does have the noble goal of ungluing them from the tube and stopping them from killing one other in video games through classes, events, and activities. The bakery is coming from children’s author Chudney Ross and New York caterer Mary Giuliani. These pals will team up with non-profits like Bring Me A Book and Make A Wish, where Giuliani was once special events director. An opening is planned before the end of the year at Main St. and Strand and more details can be found on the company’s website.

Books and Cookies, 2263 Main St. Santa Monica.
