Despite having a signed contract and the blessing of Rec & Parks, Blue Bottle has decided not to move forward with the plan for a coffee trailer in Dolores Park due to growing dissent among neighborhood residents and businesses. “I have reached the limit of my ability to be involved in a controversial situation,” the company’s owner Jim Freeman tells SFoodie. At last count, protesters only had 93 signatures in opposition to the Blue Bottle trailer, but apparently that’s enough to convince the coffee slingers they’re not wanted. No word yet on who Rec & Parks might reward another contract to, besides La Cocina — who, btw, no one seemed to have a problem with.
