Metromix has the scoop that Michelle and Vinny Garcia from Bleeding Heart Bakery are teaming up with Scott Weiner and Greg Mohr of Wicker Park’s Fifty/50, to create two massive new projects in the same Ukrainian Village building. Bleeding Heart, which for years has been in a relatively cozy Roscoe Village shop, will be moving into a 125 seat spot called Bleeding Heart Bakery & Cafe. Instead of just breads and pastries, they’ll serve a full menu, including breakfast all day long. The second project is Roots, a 200-seat bar and restaurant from Weiner and Mohr, which will feature Quad City-Style Pizza. Chicago Magazine even reports that Roots will also have takeout window with slices. Both projects will open next door to each other at 1916-1924 W. Chicago Ave, and should be open by March 2011.
