Michael Bauer stays true to his pizza-loving form in his review of Zero Zero (826 Folsom) this week, praising Bruce Hill’s Neapolitan-esque pizza technique saying “All pizzas are handled with great care,” and adding that “Zero Zero [is] much more than a pizza restaurant.” He calls the bucatini tossed in uni butter, chives, and roasted garlic “a superb dish,” and he’s won over by the design-your-own soft-serve sundae concept, after seeing it bring out the inner children in a couple of “big-time” friends from New York. Despite saying that “the pizza was nearly there” on his last visit (as in not all the way there) he gives the place a whopping three stars. [Chron, Menu]
