American Flatbread will be opening its first Illinois location at the Giddings Plaza in Lincoln Square. The pizza chain currently has outlets in a strange assortment of states, including Virginia, Vermont, and Oregon. A look around their website shows a huge influence of “natural foods” and a promise to “return bread to its roots.” These declarations are interrupted by romantic drawings of people by bread ovens, but not too many pictures of the actual pizza. Oddly, you may already be familiar with the brand, as it sells frozen versions of their pizzas at Whole Foods. The restaurant doesn’t plan on opening until April. [Center Square Journal via LTHForum]
