Today Jonathan Gold reveals his top ten favorite foodie words, with pho coming in at number four for its endless production of bad puns that even caught Mr. Gold mispronouncing the Vietnamese staple in a story for L.A. Weekly. While our favorite is still Kimmy Tang’s 90210Pho along with anyone who manages to get down and dirty like Pho King, another pho-slanging punster has arrived in West Hollywood. UnPhogettable opened its doors about two weeks back, and while it gets a few points for wordplay, Yelp uses appear even more enthusiastic about the food. Despite one two star review, the remaining thirteen are all five and pho four-star reviews. No banh mi yet for the neighborhood, but the restaurant does serve bananas flambe and is shouted out for being vastly superior to the ever expanding Phociti. Already sounds like it could be a pho-rce to be reckoned with.
