Emeryville: Trader Vic’s reopens tonight after a months-long remodel, complete with a new menu, fresh tabletops, stools and booths, and Mai Tai flights. [Eater, Earlier]

Yountville: Chef Perry Hoffman just returned from New York, where he cooked a special meal at the James Beard House, and he’s featuring the same menu at étoile at Domaine Chandon. From Thursday September 30 until Sunday October 10, étoile will be serving the same five-course menu for $90 ($125 with wine pairings) including such seared Dayboat scallops, roasted lamb loin, Cowgirl Creamery Redhawk, and spiced Valrhona chocolate pot de creme.
