Angelo Sosa, the Top Chef D.C. contender who was reportedly spotted last week in New York shooting what’s presumed to be Top Chef: All-Star, will not be doing a pop-up at Stephen Starr’s shuttered Washington Square this month, contrary to what’s been reported in recent weeks. Whether conflicts with Top Chef D.C., where Sosa is one of the show’s top three contenders, or All-Stars are to blame for the pop-up being called off is not known. A call to Starr Restaurant Organization’s HQ failed to glean any additional insight. “We don’t have anything planned with Angelo at the moment,” SRO’s Ashley Primis told Grub Street via email. “There are a ton of details and logistical issues that come along with planning a pop-up, but maybe one day it will all work out.” As for future pop-ups, the only thing booked now is an Oktoberfest-inspired dinner that South Philly Tap Room’s Scott Schroeder will prepare at Continental Mid-Town at the end of the month.
