The fact that two of the three Top Chef finalists going for it all in tonight’s season finale list Stephen Starr as a former employer — Kevin Sbraga most recently worked at Rat’s in Hamilton, NJ and Angelo Sosa did time at Morimoto in New York — doesn’t surprise us. What we do find curious though is that Sbraga is hosting attending an invitation-only viewing party tonight at Marc Vetri and Jeff Michaud’s Osteria, as the Insider points out. With a resume that reads like a veritable guide to some of the city’s best restaurants — in addition to Starr Restaurant Organization, Sbraga worked for Jose Garces, Georges Perrier and Union Trust — why is he watching the show’s finale at a restaurant where he didn’t work? We’re not sure, but we suspect it might have something to do with his former employers refusing to comment on him for Grub Street’s Scouting Report for Top Chef D.C. at the start of the season.
